The Crow and The Queen, 2013
A novel in two parts, that can be started at either The Crow or The Queen. The novel’s two parts are complementary love stories—one happy ending, one sad; one queer, one straight; one set in Los Angeles, one in Berlin—where each pair of lovers transform into animals. Their words become embodied by their new animal bodies, either in muteness, plenitude, uselessness, or violence.

First edition of ten hardcover copies designed and handmade, with silk-screened covers, by Willem Henri Lucas. Made with the support of a CalArts Dean’s Project Award.
