indexThe Greek Cycle — She Work,  There’s Time,  Odyssey Odyssey,  Motherload
There’s Time, 2014
A play about queer love, a wife’s sacrifice, and death.

Based on the ancient Greek tragedy Alcestis by Euripides, where Queen Alcestis goes to her death willingly, so that her beloved King doesn’t have to die himself. There’s Time is adapted into a 20-minute performance for the characters of “The Queen” and “Death,” both rewritten as queer women. The Queen prepares to die for her lover, while Death waits close by.

Performed by Claire Kohne and Dara Sneddon.

This play is dedicated to Chelsea Manning.

Supported by residencies at PAM and Headlands Center for the Arts, and Ivan Zhao.
