A series of 103 unique books, each hand-written, hand-sewn, and containing an original fable.

Fables were written around three words that are both noun and verb. Books made of found papers, ink and thread. Made at Flores Flats, the Sargent Hill, and Cove Ave., December 2012.

“Incunabula,” Latin for “swaddling clothes” or “cradle,” refers to “the earliest stages or first traces in the development of anything.” Commonly used to refer to the first printed books, pamphlets, or broadsides produced before the year 1501 in Europe. In other words, the first books as we know them.
